Golf management is for anyone considering either full or part-time employment in nearly any area of the golf industry. Occupations include golf shop operations; tournament play, rules, club fitting and repair; teaching skills; and course maintenance. New York State is the birthplace of the PGA. New York’s golf industry generates over $5 billion of direct, indirect, and induced economic output, over $1 billion of wage income, and nearly 57,000 jobs. 5 There are a variety of positions available in the industry including: PGA professional, director of golf operations, grounds superintendent, golf shop manager, driving range operations, custom club design and sales, golf course architect, and many more.
