Technician Skill Requirements : Knowledge, skill-sets, competencies, and methods, abilities needed for the future technician workforce

 Technical Skills : These skills vary across technologies which include: experimental design, measurement, and analytical methods; data collection approaches; experience with design, modeling, and optimization

software; programming and coding methods; and other technology-specific competencies.

 Soft Skills : These skills include critical thinking, problem-solving, effective communication, project management and process improvement, leadership, and other complementary skills.  In addition to essential Industry 4.0 competencies, Rochester and Finger Lakes businesses and stakeholders identified a range of specific software packages, process equipment, and metrology techniques that are important to their companies’ competitiveness.
