ENGINEERING Six occupations define the engineering grouping within Manufacturing Materials Optimization node. The In-Demand Certification analysis identifies four of the top ten certifications based on frequency (50%), for this grouping to be centered on process improvement and project management. This is the only worker level that identifies lean manufacturing as a top desired certification. Security clearance remains highly desired and is the second most requested certification (17%). Seven out of the top ten requested Specialized Skills focus on chemistry, chemical engineering, process engineering, process improvement and project management. Additionally, the most common Skills Clusters split between Science and Research (31%) and Manufacturing and Production (24%) categories centered on chemistry and chemical manufacturing processes, and material science skill sets. Pharmaceutical & Medicine Manufacturing is the largest (41%) identified industry driving posting data for the Manufacturing Materials Optimization node followed by Scientific Research and Development Services (28%). The Manufacturing Materials Optimization occupational demographic analysis indicate that 23.8% of the most experienced workers in this engineering focused node to be within 10 years or less of leaving the national workforce. TECHNICIAN There were no technician level positions identified within the Manufacturing Materials Optimization node as being aligned to REMADE technologies.
